Nominate — From social participation to shared impact

A social platform concept bringing together video challenges, invitations to friends and support for charities.

Nominate was a social platform concept I worked on in Los Angeles in 2014. We wanted people to share an experience or performance through video, invite their friends to take part, and connect that activity with support for a charity. At the heart of the project was the idea that one person's small action could grow into a chain of participation through new invitations.

Working through the first screen sketches and product requirements, we turned that idea into a concrete flow: discover a challenge, take part, upload a video, choose a charity to support, and nominate up to three friends. Charity profiles and a record of completed challenges were also part of the design. Nominate became one of the startup projects from my Los Angeles years in which I explored social participation, product design and shared benefit together.
